I’m trying to set up a budget that works for my whole family, not just me. Spreadsheets are fine, but I’d love something simple that covers the basics like bills, groceries, kids stuff, and savings. Do you guys use a template you like, or do you just build your own from scratch? Would be great to hear what’s worked for you.

I've been in the same boat. trying to create a family budget that's easy to manage but still covers all the essentials. For me, a simple spreadsheet template helps a lot. You can set up sections for bills, groceries, kids' expenses, and savings without overcomplicating things.

Some people love Vertex42's family budget templates, while others build their own from scratchto match exactly how their household spends. The key is keeping it flexible so everyone can stick with it and update it regulary.

I've been on the hunt for a solid family budget template too, and honestly, the simplest ones tend to work best. I like using a spreadsheet that breaks things down by income, fixed expenses (like rent and utilities), variable costs (like groceries and gas), and savings goals. It's easy to customize for your household and update each month. Some people prefer using apps, but I've found that sticking to a clear, visual layout in Excel or Google Sheets makes it easier for everyone in the family to stay on the same page.

I keep it simple. Started with a basic template and tweaked it over time - way easier than building from scratch.

Buckets like bills, groceries, kids, savings, fun is all you really need. If everyone can understand it at a glance, it actually gets used.
