I've been thinking about trying a family budget app to help keep track of our household expenses. Right now we mostly write things down in a notebook, but it's kind of messy and hard to follow up at the end of the month. I feel like an app might make it easier to see where the money is really going.

Has anyone here actually tried one that works well for a family (not just personal use)? Do you think it really helps with saving or is it just another thing to update every day? Would love to hear what's been working for you all.

Yep, we're trying out a family budget app right now with my partner-and looping the kids in when it makse sense . It's been great for keeping us on the same page with groceries, bills, and fun money. For you, what features matter most-shared access, alerts, visual graphs?

Yeah, my family's been using a shared budget app for a while now, and it's honestly made money talks a lot easier. We've tried a few, but the key for us was finding one that lets everyone see updates in real time-so no more surprises when someone forgets to log an expense. Apps like Goodbudget or Monarch have worked well since they make it simple to track shared bills, groceries, and savings goals without getting too complicated. It really helps keep everyone on the same page, especially when you're trying to stick to a joint budget.

yes! i've been using one with my family, and it's been a game-changer for keeping everyone on the same page. we can track shared expenses, set savings goals together, and even assign spending limits for each person. it makes conversations about money way less stressful since everything is transparent.

We started using a family budget app a few months gao, and honestly, it's been a game changer. It makes it super easy to see exactly where our money is going, split categories between kids, groceries, bills, etc., and even set goals. Sure, you have to update it regularly, but it only takes a minute or two, and seeing the progress actually motivates you to stick to the plan. It's definitely helped us save more than we were when just scribbling in a notebook.

Yes, they help-but only if you actually check them regularly. Even just reviewing spending once or twice a week can make a big difference.

I've been experimenting with different ways to cut down on monthly expenses, and one thing that really helped me was tracking every small purchase. It's surprising how quickly little costs add up. Once I started using a simple spreadsheet, I could see patterns and make changes without feeling deprived. Curious to hear what strategies others here are using!

Yeah-apps like YNAB and Monarch Money are pretty popular for families. YNAB is great if you want strict control, while Monarch is easier for shared tracking. Honestly, even a simple app works as long as you stick with it

We switched from writing everything in a notebook to using a budget app, and it honestly helped a lot. The biggest difference was finally seeing where the money was going each month instead of guessing.

For family budgeting, apps like YNAB or Monarch work well since both can help with shared expenses. The main thing is picking one you’ll actually keep updating. Even just checking it for a few minutes a day makes a big difference.

Yes I've actually been using one for some time now, and it has really helped me become more organized financially. It makes it easier to track daily spending, plan for bills, monitor savings, and even see where most of the money goes every month. Before, I used to underestimate small expenses, but the app helped me become more disciplined with budgeting. Some even allow you to set goals, reminders, and share the budget with family members, which is pretty convenient.
