I started using a budget book this year after realizing my money kept disappearing and I had no clue where it was going. I tried apps before, but I'd forget to open them or get distracted. With a notebook, I just write stuff down as it happens-like airtime, snacks, or random matatu fare-and it's helped me see patterns I never noticed before.

It's not perfect, but it's made me more aware of my spending. Do you think writing things down works better than using apps? Or am I just old-school? Curious how others track their money day-to-day.

i get that-writing things down sometimes sticks better than apps. i use a budget notebook to track even small expenses like snacks or transport. apps are convenient, but i often forget them, so a notebook keeps me accountable. how do you track daily spending-apps, notebooks, or both?

I actually like the notebook idea. Writing stuff down makes it feel more real. Apps are handy, but it’s easy to ignore them or forget to log things. I think whatever keeps you consistent is what works best. Do you write everything daily or just the bigger expenses?

Yeah, I still keep a small budget book! I know most people use apps now, but writing things down helps me stay more aware of what I spend. Feels kind of old-school but it works for me. Do you use one or prefer digital tracking?

Honestly, if its working, its working. Writing stuff down forces you to actually think about each expense, which apps dont always do. Youre not old-school, you just found a system youll actually use. Some people need tech, others need a pen. Awareness is the real win.
