Anyone using free Excel budget templates?

Hey everyone,
I've been trying to get better at managing my money and started looking into free Excel budget templates. There are so many out there - from super simple ones to really detailed trackers with charts. I like Excel because it's customizable, but I'm ont sure which template to pick that won't feel overwhelming after a week.

Have you guys tried any free Excel budget templates that you actually stuck with? What features did you like the most (like automatic monthly summaries, category breakdowns, debt tracking, etc.)?

I'm also curious if you tweak the templates yourself or just use them as they are. Would love some recommendations or even tips on making my own!

Yeah, I've gone down that rabbit hole too! I ended up sticking with a pretty simple template that tracks income, expenses, and savings goals, nothing too fancy. The ones with too many formulas and charts looked cool at first but got overwhelming fast. What really helped me was having automatic category breakdowns and a quick monthly summary so I could see where most of my money was going without spending hours updating it.

I like the simple ones that just have:

• income vs expenses
• auto monthly summary
• a bit of category tracking

Anything with tons of tabs or charts I never stick with. I usually pick a basic template then trim out the stuff I don't use so it feels clean and actually gets updated weekly.

Keep it simple you're way more likely to use it.
