With how expensive salon visits and beauty treatments are getting, I've been wondering how many people here have switched to doing things themselves at home. I've tried trimming my own hair once (let's just say it was an experience ), but I know some people are really good at DIY beauty and save a ton that way.

Do you do your own haircuts, nails, or skincare routines to cut costs? What's been worth learning - and what do you still prefer to leave to the pros? I'd love to hear your best tips, tools, or even DIY fails!

Honestly, I've started doing more things at home too! it's amazing how much you can save once you get the hang of it. I do my own nails and basic skincare, and it's become kind of relaxing, but I still leave haircuts and color to the pros after one too many uneven bang attempts. Some DIY beauty stuff is totally worth it once you learn the right technique, but others are better left to someone with real training. How about you-what's your go-to at-home beauty routine, and what do you still trust the salon for?

i've started doing a few of those myself to cut costs, and it's actually been kind of fun. i trim my own hair between salon visits and do my own nails most of the time . it saves a surprising amount over the year. skincare, though, i still splurge a bit on because i've found good products make a real difference. it's definitely a balance between saving mnoey and not feeling like you're missing out on self-care. how about you - do you go full diy, or do you treat yourself to a professional visit now and then?

I do a mix too. I usually handle things like hair trims or simple manicures at home, which definitely saves money, but I treat myself to a professional facial or haircut every few months just to feel pampered. For me, it's all about balancnig cost savings with keeping that little indulgence that makes self-care feel enjoyable. Do you find it easy to stick with DIY, or do you ever cave and go for a full salon session when you're craving a treat?

Yeah, I do! I started cutting my own hair and doing basic skincare at home to save money. it’s surprisingly easy once you get the hang of it. YouTube tutorials help a lot, and the savings really add up over time. I still go to a salon once or twice a year for a proper trim, but for regular upkeep, DIY definitely works.

I've definitely started doing more beauty stuff at home lately to save money, and it's surprising how much it adds up. I do my own nails and basic skincare, and honestly, once you get the hang of it, it's kind of relaxing. Haircuts, though-that's still hit or miss for me. I can handle small trims or bangs, but anything more complicated, I'd rather leave to a professional. Some DIY tools and tutorials really help, but there are limits. What about you, have you found any at-home routines that actualyl turned out better than the salon version?

I've definitely started doing more at home lately-mostly skincare and nails. I got one of those gel nail kits and honestly, it's been a game changer for saving money. Haircuts though I've learned to leave that to the pros after one uneven bangs incident! For skincare, I use an app like Yuka to check product ingredients, which helps me avoid overspending on stuff that doesn't actually work. It's kind of fun learning what you can pull off yourself, but some things are just better left to the experts.

I've been doing more at-home skincare and nails too! Those gel kits save so much compared to the salon. For skincare, I use an app to check ingredients, which stops me from wasting money on stuff that doesn't work. Fun to experiment at home, but some things are just better left to experts.

I'll DIY the easy stuff - nails, basic skincare, even simple trims - saves a ton over time.

But anything major (big haircut change, color, brows) I still leave to a pro lol. Learned that the hard way

Best tip: invest in decent tools if you're gonna DIY. Cheap clippers/scissors = regret.
