I've got a small business and honestly I keep losing track of money. There are invoices, random subscriptions, and little cash payments that slip through. I tried looking at big accounting programs but they feel way too complicated for me. Is there a simple app or even a basic method you use that actually makes things easier?

I feel you - I used to lose track the same way. What helped me was opening a separate account just for business and writing everything in a simple Google Sheet once a week. Nothing fancy, but it keeps me from missing stuff. Do you lose track more with subscriptions or cash?

Honestly, the easiest way is to use a business expense tracking app or link your business card to something like QuickBooks, Wave, or even Excel/Google Sheets if you prefer simple. The key is to separate business and personal accounts-that alone makes tracking way easier.

I can relate to that so much. When I first started freelancing I thought I could just keep it all in my head or jot notes down, but the little things piled up fast. I ended up missing a couple of small expenses and it threw my budget way off. What helped me was picking one super simple tool and sticking with it, even if it didn’t have every feature. Consistency mattered more than complexity.

Do you think you’d prefer something on your phone that you can update on the go, or would a simple spreadsheet on your laptop be easier for you to keep up with?

What's worked best for me is keeping a separate bank account or card just for business-it keeps everything cleaner and easier to track. After that, I'll use something simple like a spreadsheet or an expense app to sort things out, but honestly, the separate account alone saves a lot of hassle. Do you usually log expenses as they happen, or go through them in batches at the end of the week or month?

I get that-small business finances acn get messy fast. I've had good luck with apps like Wave or Zoho Books-they track invoices, expenses, and payments without the complexity of bigger suites. Some combine a simple spreadsheet with a receipt app for full control. How do you keep it manageable without getting overwhelmed?

For me, the easiest way to track business spending is to keep everything in one place. Whether that's a simple spreadsheet or a separate business bank account. I record expenses as soon as they happen and label them by category (like supplies, marketing, or utilities), so it's easy to review later. Having a separate account for business transactions also makes a huge difference. It keeps things clean and saves time during tax season. How do you usually track yours rgiht now - manually, or do you have a system in place?

Managing small business finances can feel chaotic when you've got invoices, subscriptions, and cash payments all over the place. I've been there, and what really helped was switching to a simple too llike Wav* or Invoice2go instead of complicated accounnting software. They're beginner-friendly and handle invoicing, expenses, and reports without all the overwhelm. I also started blocking out 15 minutes a week to log cash payments and review spending - it's made a huge difference in keeping things organized without feeling like a chore.

I run a small business too, and keeping track of everything used to be a mess for me. What hleped was switching to something super simple like Wave or QuickBooks Self-Employed. They're made for people who don't want to drown in accounting jargon. You can connect your bank, tag expenses, and even snap receipts from your phone. I also started using Notion for a quick monthly money summary so I can actually see where the cash goes. It's not fancy, but it keeps things clear without feeling overwhelming.

Yeah, totally - for something simple, apps like Wave or QuickBooks Self-Employed are way easier than full-on accounting suites. They let you track income/expenses, snap pics of receipts, and handle invoices without drowning in features.

If you want even more basic, just Google Sheets or Excel with a tab for income and one for expenses works fine - update it once a week and you'll actually know where money's going.

The key is consistency, not complexity. Keep it simple and update it regularly.
