I've been thinking a lot about how to use my business profits more wisely. It's tempting to just pocket the earnings, but I know reinvesting can really help a business grow in the long run. The tricky part is deciding where to put that money - marketing, better tools, new products, or even saving for future expansion.

For those of you running small businesses or side hustles, how do you usually reinvest your profits? Do you follow a set percentage or decide based on what your business needs most at the moment? I'd love to hear how others approach it and what's worked best for you!

I usually take a portion of the profits and put it right back into the business where it can help growth - things like marketing, new tools, or skill development. I also set aside a small emergency fund so unexpected expenses don't derail progress. Reinvesting consistently, even in small amounts, has really helped me scale without feeling like I'm overspending.

reinvesting profits is about focusing on areas that drive sustainable growth. I usually divide extra funds between marketing to reach new customers, improving inventory or product quality, and upgrading tools or software that boost efficiency. I also keep a portion as a cash buffer for unexpected costs. The key is having a plan so reinvestment feels strategic rather than impulsive. How about you - do you follow a set percentage or decide case by case where profits go?

I usually reinvest about 30-40% of profits back into the business, splitting it between marketing, tools/software, and a small buffer for surprises. Marketing gets the biggest share since growth fuels more profits, but I also save for bigger future investments. Even a rough plan helps me use hte money wisely instead of letting it sit.

Most folks do a mix. I usually pay myself a bit, then reinvest the rest where the biggest bottleneck is, marketing if sales are slow, tools if times the issue. No fixed rule, just whatll give the best return right now.
