I'm trying to get a better idea of how much people usually spend on utilities each month. For me, it feels like the bills keep creeping up-especially electricity and internet. I live in a small apartment and my electric bill alone can be around $90-100 in the summer when the AC is running. Internet adds another $60, and then water and trash are about $40 combined. So roughly $200 a month total, give or take.

Curious what it looks like for others. Do you think these costs are about average, or am I overpaying? How do your utility bills usually break down where you live?

That sounds about right for a small apartment. My electricity can spike in summer with AC-$80-$120. Internet is usually $50-$70, and water/trash adds $30-$50, so $180-$220 total isn't unusual. It varies by location and usage. Some tricks I've used: energy-efficient appliances, smart thermostats, or hunting for better internet deals. How about you-what do your utility bills look like, and any tips to keep them down?

That sounds pretty in line with what I've seen for a small apartment. My electric spikes in the summer too, especially when the AC's running nonstop- Iusually end up around $80-100. Internet forme is about $50-60, and water/trash together are probably $30-40, so I'm in the same ballpark as you. I think it really depends on where you live and how much you use AC or heat, but $200 a month for all your basics feels pretty averge to me.

Honestly, ~$200 total for electric, internet, water, and trash in a small apartment sounds pretty normal - especially if AC is pushing your electric to $90-100 in summer. Internet at $60 is about average too.

Utility costs have just crept up everywhere lately. If you wanted to trim it, internet promos or a cheaper plan might be the easiest win. But overall, you don't sound way out of line.
