Streaming Only - Is Cable Even Worth It?

Hi everyone!
I finally cut the cord last year and switched completely to streaming services, and honestly, I've been saving a ton of money. Between Netflix, Hulu, and a few others, I get most of what I want - but I do occasionally miss live sports and local channels.

For those of you who've gone all-in on streaming, do you ever regret dropping cable entirely? Or do any of you still keep a basic cable package just for certain channels or events?

Curious to hear how others balance convenience, cost, and access. Is it really worth keeping both, or is cable officially a thing of the past?

I ditched cable about two years ago and honestly haven't looked back. The only thing I really missed at first was live sports, but I eventually got a streaming add-on for that, and it's been great. The savings and flexibility are hard to beat. I can watch anywhere and cancel or switch platforms whenever I want. I think cable's only still worth it if you're super into local news or specific live events, but for most people, streaming's already taken over.

I cut the cord about a year ago, and honestly, I don't miss cable much either. Between Netflix, Disney+, and YouTube TV, I've got almost everything covered. The only time I really feel the gap is during big live events or local news. I tried a few free streaming apps for those, and they do the job most of the time. For me, the cost savings and flexibility outweigh the occasional inconvenience - once you get used to streaming, it's hard to go back to traditional cable.

I cut cable awhile back, too, and haven't looked back. The only time I kind of miss it is during big live sports events, but I ended up getting YouTube TV for those, and it's been a good middle ground. I like that I can pause or cancel anytime, which feels way less like a commitment than cable. Between Netflix, Disney+, and a few add-ons, I get everything I want without the massive bill. For me, streaming's definitely replaced cable - it just takes a bit of juggling to find the right mix.

I dropped cable a while back too, and I don'tr eally miss it much, except for live sports like you mentioned. What helped me was getting YouTube TV for the major games and using apps like Pluto TV for random live channels, it kind of fills that gap without going back to full cable prices. It's definitely more convenient having everything on-demand, and I like that I can cancel or switch services anytime. For me, cable feels more like a backup at this point than a necessity.

I cut the cord too and dont really miss cable at all. For live sports/local stuff I just use YouTube TV during the seasons I care about, then cancel when Im done. Way cheaper than keeping cable year-round.

Most of the time streaming covers everything I need. If I really want a game, I'll grab a short-term live TV trial or a month of YouTube TV or something.

For me, keeping both isn't worth it. Cable feels kinda optional now unless live sports/local news are must-haves.

I did the same thing and honeslty dont regret it. The savings alone make it worth it, and most of what I watch is covered by streaming anyway.
