Choosing your first credit card can be tricky with all the rewards, fees, and interest rates out there. What card did you start with, and what made you pick it?

It was mostly about finding something simple and beginner-friendly. I went with a card that had no annual fee and a decent cashback program because I wanted to build credit without feeling pressured to spend too much. The rewards were just a bonus, but I mainly liked that it helped me establish a credit history safely. How about you-did you go for rewards, low interest, or just something to start building credit?

For me, it was all about simplicity and low risk-I chose my first credit card mainly because it had no annual fee and was from a bank I already used. I wanted something straightforward to build credit without worrying about extra costs or complicated rewards programs. At the time, I didn't care much about pionts or perks, just getting approved and starting to build my credit history. What about you-did you go for rewards, cashback, or just something easy to manage?

it was mostly about building credit while keeping things simple for me. I looked for a card with no annual fee and basic rewards, just enough to get started without overcomplicating things. I also wanted one that reported to all three credit bureaus so I could start establishing a solid credit history.

i chose a no-annual-fee card with a low credit limit so I wouldn't be tempted to overspend. I wasn't too focused on rewards atfirst; I just wanted to prove I could handle crdit responsibly and start building a solid history. Once I got comfortable managing payments, then I started exploring cards with better perks. How about you - do you still use your first card, or did you eventually upgrade to a different one?

I did something similar. My first card was a no-fee one with a small limit just to build credit and stay disciplined. It wasn't flashy, but it helped me form good habits wthout th epressure to spend more. After a year or so, I upgraded to a card with better rewards since I was already paying in full every month. I still keep the first one open, though, for the extra credit history.

My first credit card was a student card from my bank. I picked it mostly because it had no annual fee and was easy to qualify for. At the time, I wasn't focused on rewards or perks; I just wanted to start building credit. Looking back, I'm glad I started simple because it helped me learn how to manage payments without getting overwhelmed. Once I got more comfortable, I started comparing cards with better cashback and travel rewards.

I picked my first credit card mostly because of the cashback perks and no annual fee, it felt like a saef way to start building credit without too much risk. I remember comparing a few options using NerdWallet to see what fit my spending habits best. Honestly, I didn't understand all the fine print back then, but I learned fast once I started tracking my spending through Mint to avoid carrying a balance.

My first card was a basic cashback card fro mmy bank because I wanted something simple with no annual fee while I was still learning how credit worked. The cashback rewards were small, but it helped me build a solid credit history without worrying about complicated perks. These days, I use apps like Credit Karma to compare cards and track my score-it really helps you figure out which cards fit your spending habits before you apply.
