Taxes can get super confusing, especially when you start adding work expenses, charitable donations, and home deductions into the mix. I've been using TaxSlayer and Credit Karma Tax to help guide me, but I'm wondering if anyone has any clever hacks or strategies to make sure they're not leaving money on the table. Do you guys track receipts a certain way, or maybe use apps that catch deductions automatically? Would love to hear what actually works in real life.

I totally get that. Taxes can feel like a puzzle every year. What's helped me a lot is using an expense tracker like QuickBooks Self-Employed to automatically categorize receipts and mileage. It saves a ton of time when it's tax season. I also keep a folder in my phone's notes app just for donation receipts or random deductions I might forget later. It's not fancy, but it's saved me from missing out on a few hundred bucks in write-offs.

Biggest hack for me is just staying organized all year so nothing gets missed. I scan receipts as I go and tag them by category. Makes the software way more accurate.

Honestly the biggest thing is tracking stuff all year, not scrambling at tax time. I just snap receipts and dump them into a folder/app so nothing gets lost. Mileage trackers help too if you drive for work. Most tax software catches common deductions, but staying organized is what really saves you.
