What’s the hardest part of job hunting for you?

Job hunting honestly feels like a full-time job in itself. Between tweaking resumes, sending out applications, networking, and prepping for interviews, it can get overwhelming fast. For some people, the hardest part is just getting noticed; for others, it's handling rejection or negotiating pay. What part of the process do you find the toughest, and how do you usually handle it?

For me, the hardest part is definitely the waiting game after interviews. You spend all this time preparing, get through what feels like a solid conversation, and then it’s crickets for weeks. That silence messes with my head way more than a straight-up rejection email.

I’ve started trying to keep myself busy with other applications so I don’t obsess too much, but it’s still tough. Do you usually follow up after interviews, or just let it play out?

same here! the waiting usually stresses me out more than the actual interview. i'll send a quick thank-you note within a day or two to stay on their radar, but after that i try to move forward and keep applying so i'm not overthinking it. do you usually follow up again after a week or two, or stop at the thank-you?

For me, the hardest part of job hunting is the waiting - you put in all that effort tailoring your resume and writing a great cover letter, and then sometimes hear nothing back for weeks (or at all). It's tough staying motivated when the process feels out of your control. How about you - is it the applications, the interviews, or just finding the right roles to go after?

Honestly, the hardest part fro me is staying positive after multiple rejections. Itcan really mess with your confidence, especially whenyou start second-guessing your skills or experience. I've learned to treat each interview as practice rather than a pass-or-fail test - that mindset shift helps a lot. Plus, keeping a routine (like setting aside certain hours each day for job searching) makes it feel less overwhelming.

For me, the hardest part of job hunting is definitely the waiting - that limbo between sending out applications and actually hearing back. You put in all this effort customizing resumes and writing cover letters, then silence. It's also tough staying confident after a few rejections, especially when you start second-guessing your skills or experience. I try tou se the downtime to learn something new or tweak my approach, but it still gets mentally draining. Networking helps a bit since it feels more human than just clicking "apply." How about you - what part of the process wears you out the most?

Totally agree! It really does feel like a full-time job sometimes. For me, the toughest part is the waiting game after interviews. You start overthinking every little thing you said. I try to handle it by keeping track of everything in Notion and using tools like Teal to organize applications and deadlines. It helps me feel a bit more in control and less stressed while waiting for updates.

For me, it's the waiting and rejection part - sending apps into the void messes with your head. What helps is treating it like a system: set daily goals, then unplug. Once I stopped tying my self-worth to replies, the process got way easier to handle.
